Tiki Altar

I put all my log bricks into a drawer while sorting and started thinking about what I could do with all the brown ones (which I have the most of). My wife and I love kitschy things, especially those that fall into the Trader Vic's-coconuts-bamboo-lounge-type theme. So I thought it would be a kick to make a big, crazy, sacrificial altar of some kind.

At the back and below the head is a big handle of train weights that sits firmly in the base. I wanted a giant head and a small body to evoke the carved totems often seen in antique store windows.

As the model grew, I thought it would be fun to put another outrageous mouth in the belly to add a little totem pole vibe. I then added another row of teeth just after the stairs.
